Instructions
- Roll out your pizza dough on a flat surface to the desired thickness. If you’re shaking in your pizza sneakers worried about perfect circles — don’t be. Rustic edges give character!
- Heat a large skillet or a flat pan over medium-high heat. Place the rolled out dough on the pan. Cook for about 2 minutes, until the bottom is slightly golden.
- Turn the dough over and quickly spread pizza sauce over the top side.
- Lay down your slices of fresh mozzarella evenly across the sauce.
- Drizzle a bit of olive oil around the edges and a tiny splash over the cheese.
- Cover the pan with a lid, reduce the heat to medium, and allow the cheese to melt and the crust to cook through, which should take about 5 to 7 minutes.
- Once everything looks gooey and delicious, remove from the pan and scatter fresh basil leaves and a sprinkle of salt and pepper on top.
- Slice and serve your masterpiece. Voila, gourmet pizza without the gourmet price!
