Ingredients

  • 12 lasagna noodles
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 2 cups ricotta cheese
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cook the lasagna noodles in a large pot of boiling water until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  3. In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add chopped onion and garlic and sauté until fragrant.
  4. Add ground beef to the skillet, season with salt and pepper, and cook until browned. Stir in marinara sauce and let simmer for 5 minutes.
  5. Meanwhile, in a saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Stir in flour and cook for 1 minute. Gradually whisk in milk, nutmeg, and a pinch of salt, cooking until the sauce thickens.
  6. In a 9×13-inch baking dish, spread a thin layer of meat sauce. Layer with noodles, ricotta, meat sauce, and béchamel sauce. Repeat layers, finishing with mozzarella and Parmesan on top.
  7. Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes. Remove foil and bake an additional 10 minutes until cheese is golden. Let rest for 10 minutes before serving. Enjoy!
